To enhance the education of members through publications, conferences and professional development workshops.

To proactively pursue public policy and legislative goals at the federal and state level that affect the counseling profession and the membership of the Connecticut Counseling Association, its divisions, and the clients we serve.

PROFESSIONALIZATION

To promote and ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the American Counseling Association, and to support and enhance standards of professional preparation.

PUBLIC AWARENESS AND SUPPORT

To inform and educate the public about the counseling profession, specifically about the skills and services offered by the Connecticut Counseling Association, its divisions, chapters and membership.

INTERPROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION

To communicate with other professional groups for the purpose of promoting collaboration and to enhance the health and well-being of the public.

HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

To provide caring, competent and relevant services to clients while improving their quality of life and maintaining human dignity.

HUMAN RIGHTS

To join with other organizations in addressing the needs of under-represented and disenfranchised groups.

RESEARCH AND KNOWLEDGE

To provide support for the development of theory, research and the enhancement of professional practice.
